I notice you said you used to race DH. THe photo you've placed in asolutely confirms my desire to stay on the road. The youngsters are welcome to it!!!!!

I meet a guy one time at the Nationals that started riding/racing DH when he was 55.

I'm not that anecdotal reference will convince me!!! I need to talk to that nutty 55 year old! Awesome opportunities out ther, sometimes you just have to have to guts to do it!

I'm with you Casey. Not that my bones are there yet, but I think my nerves are that of a 100 year old when it comes to DH! I guess I need to particularly inspired on day.

Insanity drop in the picture above. And this is fun, until you break your neck!! What kind of speed do yuo devleop on a trail like this?

it depends on how rough/tight & whats on the trail (drop, chute, off camber, tight switch back, nasty roots), so it varies a lot - so you could be going 5mph, and seconds later doing 30. The fastest I ever went was at a end of one race where the last section was just going straight down a ski slope, my DH bike is setup 1x9 and I was in the biggest gear pedaling as fast as I could, my guess is close to 35-40mph

Hey, you are only as old as you feel. I am 25 and I know some 60 years old more active than me.

How long have you been riding? I'm interested in doing some down hilling but I need to train some more.
